2016 Honda Civic Sedan

A New Look for a New Generation

Exterior:
With a fierce new shape and distinctive cut lines, the all-new 10th-generation Civic has never looked better. With LED Lights see more road and use less energy with distinctive LED Daytime Running Lights and brake lights. Touring models also feature all-LED headlights and turn indicators. The Civic knows when it’s raining, and can activate its wipers automatically (Touring). The fuel filler neck opens on contact with the pump nozzle, making every refill simple and clean.

Engineering:
Civic EX-T and above models feature a 1.5-liter, turbocharged engine for high cruise efficiency and robust performance.  Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)- CVT maximizes efficiency whatever the driving condition. The new Civic handles every bit as nice as it looks. Improvements to power steering and rear suspension offer a smoother ride without compromising fun.

Interior:
Choose from three heat levels in the front (EX-T and above). And now, outboard rear passengers can enjoy heated seats, too (Touring). Power seats mean personalized comfort, whether you’re driving or along for the ride (EX-L and above). Need more cargo space? Fold down one or both sides of the rear seatback to accommodate both gear and passengers (EX and above).

New Honda Ridgeline Spied..

The all-new 2016 Honda Ridgeline is coming, and there have been a few new renderings that show what the pickup might look like. Although the renderings aren't from Honda itself, they're heavily based on a sketch that Honda released at the Chicago Auto Show, which previewed the upcoming truck.
According to the renderings, the Ridgeline will combine traditional Honda SUV styling with a more familiar pickup design than what the outgoing Ridgeline offered. That means a bed separate from the truck's body, a typical pickup feature that wasn't present in the original Ridgeline. The result is that the latest Ridgeline could offer more bed and cab configurations than the outgoing model.
Another difference between the renderings and the outgoing Ridgeline: The latest version of the truck will probably offer more typical Honda styling, compared to the more muscular, bold look of the old Ridgeline. While some truck enthusiasts might complain that the new truck isn't brawny enough, it will likely appeal to city-based car owners who don't need the size and might of a tough, muscular full-size pickup.
Beyond the teaser sketch shown in Chicago, Honda hasn't released many details about its upcoming Ridgeline pickup. Expect that the new truck will utilize the Honda Pilot chassis, just like the old model, along with a 3.5-liter V6 and a 9-speed automatic transmission.  Stay tuned for more updates on the 2016 Honda Ridgeline.

Is your car ready for Winter?

1.  Check your battery.  Getting stranded in the cold with a dead battery is no one's idea of a good time.  If you have a maintenance-free battery, there should be a window on the top of the battery that tells you the state of it's charge.  If it's not, check the fluid levels, and top off with distilled water as necessary.  if you're not sure how to check your battery, most any auto parts store will be able to check it for you.
2.  Check your tires.  While a dead battery can leave you stranded, balding tires on snowy and icy roads can lead to a much more dangerous situation.  If you live in an area that gets a significant amount of snow, you may want to consider snow tires.
3.  Check your wiper blades.  Going cheap on your wiper blades or ignoring them can lead to very unpleasant driving in the winter.  Bad wipers can't do an adequate job of keeping the snow and ice off of your windshield, no matter how high you have the defrosters blasting.
4.  Check your fluids.  Check your owner's manual, but for most vehicles, the cooling system should be flushed every two years.  If your vehicle is overdue, prior to winter setting in is as good of a time as any to have it taken care of.  Also, refer to your owner's manual to find what type and what mixture of anti-freeze you should be using.  You will also want to keep your windshield washer fluid full, using a fluid that is designed for not freezing in the cold weather.  If you get stuck behind a truck throwing dirty snow at your windshield, you will be glad you did.  As always, change your oil regularly.
5.  Keep your vehicle supplied.  Normal emergency materials are key for the winter.  If you do get stranded on the road, you want other driver's to be able to see you.  Roadside flares are not excessive to keep on hand.  Keeping extra warm cloths, gloves, and a blanket or two are always good ideas as well.  Be sure to have lock de-icer on hand- and keep in mind that it doesn't always help to have it in the car.  Some in your house, and some at work are a great idea.
6.  Care for the interior of your car.  In and out of the snow, ice, and salt can be particularly rough on your carpets.  Be sure to have at least an inexpensive set of floor mats for your car.  Better yet are the kind that can hold the water and keep it away from your carpets completely.
7.  Let your car warm up (and revving your engine doesn't really help).  Keep in mind, though, thieves are excellent at watching for cars that are running but unattended.  Have an extra door key that you keep on you and lock the doors while it is warming up, even if you are at home.
8.  Be safe.  Allow extra time to get where you are going, leave plenty of space between you and the driver in front, and use good common sense.  It's better to arrive a few minutes late than not at all.

2016 Honda Accord

The redesigned 2016 Hond Accord is going to have some big shoes to fill, it's own. After all, it has landed on the "10 Best Cars" list 29 times while remaining America's favorite family sedan. The 2016 Accord has added some new ingredients to an already spectacular recipe and we can't wait to try it. The improvements go beyond the typical revision and the result is beautiful.

The Accord is currently a few years into it's ninth generation and the 2016 will bring a mild refresh that will be most recognized by the bold new grille design and redesigned taillights. The Sedan's will also get a re-contoured aluminum hood. With the Coupes, you're giving up a little practicality for a more of a performance look; they are very similar from the front seats forward but their completely different, wedgier tail and side add up to a more dynamic stance.

Honda in the past hasn't had much of a reputation for cramming value and convenience features into its vehicles. But that's all been turning around lately. The Honda Accord Sedan offered in LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring trims, while the Coupe available in LX-S, EX, EX-L, and Touring models. The base Accord LX model includes dual-zone automatic climate control, 16-inch alloys, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera system, and an eight-inch i-MID display with Pandora audio streaming and SMS text-message capability. V-6 models get some nicer cabin appointments, and EX-L models have a 360-watt system with Aha internet radio streaming. So, consider the Accord's shoes filled.

The redesigned Honda Civic

The all-new Civic Concept took the spotlight at the 2015 New York Auto Show on April 1. As the basis for the entire line of the 2016 Civic family, the Civic Concept boasts a variety of sporty, aggressive features that will redefine the compact market. This fall, the Sedan-later followed by a Coupe, an Si, a 5-door model, and a new Civic Type-R-will celebrate our take on an advanced, sport-inspired design. Featuring a new turbo-charged engine, the Civic Concept embodies the spirited, game-changing future of the tenth-generation Civic.

The new Civic is being called "the most radical redesign in Civic history". It's a redesign that Mr. Honda himself would be proud of, a concept car that so closely resembles that of the tenth-generation production car. Honda is returning to the sporty Civics of beloved memory, establishing new high points of handling and refinement for the model. The new Civic will be a little wider and a little longer than the current model, with a shorter front over-hang and A-pillars that are pulled back to give it a more exciting profile. The front and rear LED lighting strongly resemble that of the current model and the rest of the Honda line up. Stay tuned for more information, including horsepower, body materials and suspension architecture, on this exciting redesign of the Honda Civic.

5 Reasons to buy the 2015 Honda Odyssey

At Smart Honda, we’re proud to offer the 2015 Honda Odyssey to not only our Davenport customers, but surrounding area drivers as well. If you’re looking to buy a minivan, then look no further than the new 2015 Honda Odyssey. This comfortable minivan has a lot more to offer than one might think. Here are the top 5 reasons you should buy a 2015 Honda Odyssey:

1. Superior Safety

The 2015 Honda Odyssey is among the safest vehicles on the road. In 2014 the Honda Odyssey was the first minivan to earn the Institute’s top safety designation for good performance in all five IIHS crash evaluations. The Honda Odyssey has all the safety-features bells and whistles you could need. Standard on all models is a rearview camera system, an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), a Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control system, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), brake assist and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

2. HondaVac

Messy kids? Shedding Dog? While only available on the Touring Elite model, the HondaVac is a built-in vacuum cleaner that is stored in the back of the minivan. The hose is long enough to reach the front of the car allowing you to easily clean up those every day spills from snacking in the car. The HondaVac includes two attachments to make cleaning up even easier. We think it’s definitely worth the upgrade just for this nifty tool.

3. Nimble Handling and Performance

With a car-like foundation and better handling, the 2015 Honda Odyssey has the performance and power that is not typically found in a  minivan. All models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission which gives it confident acceleration and passing, and enough power to head up mountain roads fully loaded.

4. Spacious Interior

With seating for up to 8 passengers, there’s tons of space for everyone in the 2015 Honda Odyssey. The second row can be used as three seats that can be adjusted to each side to allow for easy movement through the cabin. If you’re not looking to carry a lot of people, but need space for cargo, then the Odyssey has you covered. The second-row seats can be removed completely and the third-row seats can be magically tucked into the rear cargo area.

5. HondaLink Infotainment Suite

Drivers don’t have to worry about upgrading to a nicer model if they want a good entertainment package. Want Bluetooth and Pandora Compatibility? These features come standard on all models and on the EX models and higher HondaLink with an audio touch-screen comes standard too.

Drivers in Davenport, IA and surrounding areas can stop by Smart Honda to see why we think the 2015 Honda Odyssey is one of the best minivans and cars on the market. Visit us for a test-drive and to speak with one of our Honda Certified Product Specialists about the 2015 Honda Odyssey.

Honda Safety

We know that your passengers are important, which is why Honda looks past government regulations for safety. From drivers to passengers, pedestrians and other car occupants, we know the people who matter could be anywhere, so Honda studies real-world situations to develop new safety technologies for everyone.

ACE™ Body Structure
This Honda-exclusive body design enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions by distributing crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

Multiple Airbags
Every Honda is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags to help protect you in the event of a collision. Select models are equipped with SmartVent® front side airbags and side curtain airbags with rollover sensor. With any car though, your seatbelt is your first  mode of protection in any crash.

Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Dynamic Guidelines

Get a better view of what's going on around you with three different angles: normal, top-down and wide.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

LDW can detect un-indicated lane departures from detected lanes. Alerts will flash and sound to help bring your attention to correcting the lane drift.

Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)

If your vehicle is detected drifting too close to the side of the road while driving 45–90 mph without a turn signal activated, RDM alerts you with rapid vibrations on the steering wheel. If you continue to leave the roadway, it can also apply steering torque and braking to help keep your vehicle in the detected lane.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
Integrated with the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), FCW uses a small camera mounted at the top of the front windshield to detect the presence of vehicles in front of you. If the FCW system determines that you are at risk of a collision with a detected vehicle, it activates audio and visual alerts to warn you5. If you fail to act, the CMBS will automatically apply brake pressure.

Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)

Utilizing a millimeter wave radar sensor, CMBS can help bring your Honda to a stop when the system determines that a collision with a vehicle detected in front of you is unavoidable. A warning sounds and, if necessary, brake pressure is automatically applied

2016 Honda Pilot

The largest Honda model gets a makeover for the 2016 model year and it's shaping up to be THE family vehicle. Honda reliability, a roomy interior, and a practical shape are what sell the Pilot. The 2016 Honda Pilot is significantly improved over the last generation, whether you're talking about performance, technology or simply curb appeal. The Pilot seats up to eight and still has room for an 82-quart cooler behind the 3rd-row seats. The Pilot Elite replaces the 2nd-row seats with two luxurious 2nd-row captain’s chairs. With all the room available in the Pilot, being tall isn't going to be a problem. The second row features two buttons; one being on the seat bottom and the other located on the seat back, making exiting the vehicle painless, even for a person that is six feet tall.
From a Blue-Ray player to an HDMI port for gaming, the Pilot appears to have plenty of electronics to keep children of all ages occupied for hours. The Pilot also offers plenty of USB ports, some being powerful enough to charge iPads. Parents can also enjoy many entertainment options, but may be more excited about all the available storage in the Pilot. The center console is much larger than the old Pilot and can easily hold a large purse. The smaller cubbies throughout the vehicle make storing childrens things convenient as well. The cargo area is also impressive with its significant amount of under floor storage. The hard plastic cover behind the third row can be moved to the bottom to create more room for taller items.
The Honda Pilot was a pioneer in the race to reformat rugged SUVs into something more prosaic, more useful--more liveable on a daily basis. When it was new in 2003, the Pilot got the driving height and all-weather traction of the SUV right, and wrapped it in an airy Honda-like body with lots of seats, superb visibility and, truth, frumpy looks.

Honda Reports Record Sales for North America

Honda has proudly reported that it's starting off 2015 right by setting record high goals in the month of January. The Fit, CR-V, and Honda Pilot were all top contenders in setting double digit sales and proving to be some hot competition for other manufacturers.

Honda show no signs of slowing down. The company reported that the CR-V still holds the title for the best-selling SUV in America selling over 23,000 units. As for the Fit, an incredible 5,802 vehicles were sold in January increasing sales a ridiculous 85.8%.

Honda's division senior VP and GM, Jeff Conrad, stated, "The new year is off to a strong start with three core models selling at record pace, and this is only the beginning." We can't wait to see what fantastic models the year holds in store.

2016 HR-Z Debuts

This January Honda proudly released their 2016 HR-Z at the Philadelphia International Auto Show. Official Honda news states that the new body style is based upon the R-line. Curvier lines and rich, glossy color gives this vehicle a turbo boost appealing to younger demographics.

Don't expect the model to come without a hefty price tag! The 2016 comes at about a $5,000 increase in cost and that's with basic vehicle trim options. It's quite apparent that not only does the CR-Z look sporty, it packs quite a punch with it's impressive 1.4L, 220 hp engine. And it still offers tons of storage space including seats that fold down for even more square footage.

For more information on new models and the best selection of vehicles, visit Smart Honda!
